About the Job
The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Donation Center Attendant whose function will be responsible for all matters pertaining to the operations and security of the Donation Center.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all matters pertaining to the operations and security of the Donation Center while on duty. 
  • Receive and receipt, as per policy, all donated material in a courteous and efficient manner. Safeguard all donated materials and assigned equipment. 
  • Courteously advise donors of material that is not acceptable. Advise donors of heavy materials that should be picked up by the route truck. 
  • Maintain the Donation Center and the surrounding area in a neat and clean condition. 
  • Report immediately to the supervisor the following: a) Complaints b) Damage and any unsafe conditions to the Donation Center c) Any injuries occurring on or near the Donation Center for which The Salvation Army might be liable. 
  • Sort and load trailers per center policy. 
  • Do not allow unauthorized personnel in the Donation Center. 
  • No merchandise is to be kept, sold, or otherwise diverted without written permission from the Administrator. 
  • This position will support the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers by providing beneficiaries with an example of professional conduct and work habits. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or Administrator.
 
Qualifications:
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Good customer service skills. 

Physical Requirements:
Sitting Under 1/3 of the time, Lifting Must be able to lift 75 pounds, Push/Pull Using Machinery Over 2/3 of the time, Standing Over 2/3 of the time, Walking Over 2/3 of the time, Reaching Over 2/3 of the time, Climbing Over 2/3 of the time, Stooping Over 2/3 of the time.
